Starting in 2008-2009, each teacher household will receive 3000 yen/month to support the costs of Internet access. In 2009-2010 each teacher household will be expected to have access at home.
Graduation Requirement: Every student will demonstrate proficiency in the use of technology.
Procedures
Crisis Management and Teacher intranet Pages. In 2007, CA began to develop a crisis management system for a response to a pandemic event. Level 4 of that response says that a Virtual School would be activated. We realized that the most important component of a Virtual School was for each teacher to have access to a page on the intranet and for every teacher to know how to use and access the page. As a result, each teacher in school is provided a page on the CA intranet and expected to maintain the page. The page is created using CourseForum. Further development of the Crisis Management and Virtual School was put on hold this year due to strategic planning. Further Virtual School planning will occur in 2008-2009.
