Unit 6: Evolution I: Established Goals: Through reading, discussion, analysis of evidence, and laboratory investigation, a) appreciate that the origins of living systems, and their change over time, is seen by biologists to be a product of evolution by natural selection, and that b) evolution produces diversity within constraints, c) leading to structural and functional adaptations, and further, d) that evolution draws together the other themes of biology, ranging from biochemistry through cytology, energetics, genetics, physiology, behavior and finally to ecology.
