Sonny's report

- Yamaha router setup - (will report where we are up to)
- Computer gomi disposal - it's a go! finally!!! Estimated cost ¥100,000 approved. Will do in first week of summer break.
- Computer donation through Mr. Sobhani - 12 iMac DVs (will prepare with legal software setup by end of June; Mr. Sobhani will buy mice and packing materials for shipment)
- Projector issues - PTA will buy 6 new projectors as "lasting gifts" (3 ES, 2 MS, 1 HS part-time). Murray says our current projector BenQ MP511+ is not quite good enough, with low resolution and poor legibility of text contents. We looked at other models and decided on a better one (up ¥20,000). We ordered one for a test, will order 5 more if we like it.
- Network paralysis on Friday - What really happened? You don't want to know. . .

- iTrolley 1 - N306A (Wagenaar) - 8 iBooks (
4 G3, 4 G4 6 G3, 2 G4)
- iTrolley 2 - Library - 8 iBooks (all G4) - OK
- iTrolley 3 - Tech 1 - 8 iBooks (all G4) - OK

- iTrolley 6 - N301 (Lucas) - 8 iBooks (
6 G3, 2 G4 5 G3, 2 G4, 1 missing)
- iTrolley 7 - Tech 3 - 8 iBooks (4 G3, 4G4) - OK
- iTrolley 8 - Tech 3 - 8 iBooks (6 G3, 2 G4) - OK
- iTrolley 9 - Library - 8 iBooks (all G3) - OK
Problems, issues
- I will put another computer in iTrolley 6 ASAP
- iTrolley iBooks are often returned in wrong trolleys
- Returned trolleys often not properly plugged in for next user
- Some had dead batteries this week; fixed, but there must be more
- Power adapters get pulled out and dragged and damged (because batteries are dead or not properly charged after use)
31 36 iBook G4s needed to upgrade MS/HS iTrolleys. We will get 9 from leaving faculty in June. Will we have 27 more when we buy next batch of teacher MacBooks?
- Dave H caught a few power adapters overheating, melting, smoking hot! Some early iBook adapters are 45W, later ones 65W, but one of the two that melted in Dave's lab was a later 65W adapter.
- Some will die from time to time, so we need more than that.
- Maybe we need 10 new batteries to keep the G4s going for another year
